Brad Winkler

President and Owner

Brad WinklerHi. My name is Brad Winkler. I first visited The Villages in 2005 and I knew then that I always wanted to move here one day. Owning and operating Battery Boys was the perfect opportunity to accelerate those plans.

I have been an entrepreneur the last 19+ years, having owned another business. I am no stranger to owning and running a business plus all the long hours that go with it. I am also a graduate of Georgia State University with a BBA in Business Management.

Here at Battery Boys we are always seeking ways to improve our service and our products. We have become the largest Trojan Battery dealer in this area thanks to customers who demand only the best. We are excited about additional business prospects that we are working with other service providers to bring new and innovative products to Battery Boys customers.

My staff of service professionals and I are ready to serve your golf cart needs.

Beth WInkler

Owner

Beth WinklerHi, I’m Beth Winkler.

Yes, I am the wife of Brad Winkler but I am also one of the owners of Battery Boys. As a result I want only the best for all of our customers. It is my personal goal to provide 100% satisfaction with every phone call and every service appointment that we set up.

Originally I had a background in retail working as an Assistant Manager for several national chains. Therefore I have been well trained in customer service and addressing customer needs without the pressure of “just make the sale”. Battery Boys has never been about high pressure sales tactics but more about addressing the customer’s needs.

Between Ryan and me, we will be answering all calls. We will always make sure you get the products you need to make the joy of golf carting far more fun!

Ryan Hebrock

Office Manager

Beth WinklerIt is a pleasure to be working for Battery Boys. I have worked in environments where customer service was the number one priority. I love the fact that Battery Boys believes in the same concept. I love being out in the field working first hand with our customers and helping them set up their carts properly.

I was born and raised in Florida so this is my home. I have lived in other parts of the country but feel its a joy to be back in Florida and working for Battery Boys

I look forward to meeting as many people in our service area and hope to be the technician assigned to your cart.

Richard Perrett

Technician

Beth WinklerI was originally born and raised in Swindon, England (and yes I talk with an accent). I came to the United States 11 years ago and loved it here so much I applied for a VISA and through time have now become a citizen of the United States.

I have worked in The Villages and surrounding area delivering medical equipment. When I read about the opportunity that Battery Boys was offering I responded right away. I love working on mechanical systems and being one-on-one with the customers.

I am delighted to be a part of Battery Boys and plan for a long future with them. I have had the great fortune of working on many carts so far and look forward to the opportunity to service your cart too.

Shayne Chaloux

Technician

Shane ChalouxMy name is Shayne Chaloux (Sha-lew).

I joined Battery Boys after a time spent working for one of the utility companies in the central U.S. region. When I returned to Florida I was hoping to find a job much like I enjoyed with the utilities where I would be working out in the field, be working with customers directly and be trusted to work independently. I found all of that at Battery Boys.

I greatly enjoy my job and to be working for a company that cares about its reputation and most of all, the customer. There are few companies today who truly are customer oriented versus ones that just want you to “get the money”. Thankfully Battery Boys is not one of those companies.

Hopefully I will be the technician who gets the opportunity to work on your cart where I/we can wholeheartedly show you that we care.

Ray Healy

Charger Repair Technician

Ray HealyMy name is Ray Healy.

I started learning and repairing electronic equipment when I joined the Navy right out of high school. After giving Uncle Sam 6 years I went to work for Toshiba for 4 1/2 years before joining IBM where I spent the remainder of my career, 37+ years to be exact. As a Senior Field Service Engineer I have experience repairing literally every kind of electronic equipment IBM represented.

After retiring from IBM, I contemplated where I’d want to retire to and Florida became the state of choice as Iowa was too cold. With family living in this area, we settled down but retirement left me with too much idle time. I’ve joined Battery Boys on a part time basis as I still enjoy working, just don’t want a full time job. Being able to utilize my background to repair chargers is very satisfying and being a part timer is the best of both worlds.

We test chargers for free so if your charger is giving you problems bring it to me and let me make sure your unit is working properly. If it needs repairing, we can fix most chargers for less than it costs for a new one.

Richie Aponte

Technician

Richie AponteHello, I am Richie Aponte

I recently joined Battery Boys when I was searching for some type of full time position were I could use my expertise of working on something in the mechanical field. I had never tired golf carts before but have found a new fascination with how intricate they are. I never would have thought there is so much to learn about all the different manufacturers out there. That’s what makes this job fun is all the variety of each job.

I genuinely love the pace of work here at Battery Boys and how they care for each customer. Too many times companies out there won’t stand behind their products and look for every opportunity not to do anything after the initial sale. Not at Battery Boys, they are committed to having us do the job and do it right and if a follow up is necessary we are there for you.

One other benefit I bring to Battery Boys is that I’m multi-lingual in Spanish. Most of my day is spent in the field but if we plan the time I can be in the shop to field any calls where Spanish is your primary language.
